Prof. Ibrahim Al-Alwan

Ibrahim is Professor of Pediatrics and Assistant Vice President at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health science (KSAU-HS), Riyadh. He obtained MRCP (UK) in 1995, American Board of Pediatrics,1996 and Canadian FRCPC in 1997. In 2001, he was duly certified in Pediatric Endocrinology by American Academy of Pediatrics and the Canadian RCP.

Prof Al-Alwan led a number of research projects and secured grants from multiple sources. Currently he is a principle investigator in a number of ongoing studies. He lectured in various countries and published in different aspects of pediatric endocrinology and medical education. At Administrative level, He is the President of Association of Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and an Executive Council Member, World Federation for Medical Education. At national level, he chairs various committees, established the Saudi Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship program in 2004 and served as Dean of College of Medicine, KSAU-HS between 2010-2014.

Prof. Nancy Samir Elbarbary

Professor of Pediatrics at Faculty of Medicine, Ain -Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Doctorate degree (M.D.) Ain- Shams University 2007. Passed MBBCH and Master (M.Sc.) in pediatrics (Excellent with honors )1998 and 2003 respectively. Working now at Paediatric Diabetes Clinic which is one of the first Paediatric clinic at the Children’s Hospital and Middle East since 1979 and one of the largest referral centers all over Egypt for managing children with type 1 diabetes.

Member of several professional societies, both national and international, such as The Egyptian Society of Childhood Diabetes and Endocrinology (ESDEP) and Arab Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes(ASPED)and the head of scientific research committee in Pediatric Diabetes guidelines in ASPED.

Has international links to International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). Is a Steering Committee member of ASPED-ISPAD Diabetes Academy since 2016 and  contributed to the ESPE e-learning program. Serves as invited reviewer in more than 30 international peer-reviewed journals. Member in the Editorial Board of more than ten international journals and a member of research and ethics committee at Ain Shams University hospital, Cairo.

Prof. Rasha Odeh

Prof. Rasha Odeh is a professor of pediatric endocrinology , School of Medicine,  University of Jordan and the head of pediatric endocrinology division, department of pediatrics, Jordan University Hospital. After obtaining her medical degree from the University of Jordan, She finished a three year fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Leipzig University Hospital , Germany. She is a member of the Royal  College of Pediatrics and Child Health. She served as a program director for pediatric residents for four years.

Prof. Odeh Has co-founded the service of pediatric endocrinology at Jordan University Hospital. She is Jordan’s representative in the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and served as deputy chair of Diabetes Research and Diabetes Guidelines Committee since 2018.

Prof Odeh has several publications and served as an invited reviewer for several peer reviewed journals. She is currently a member of the first Arab Board Committee for pediatric endocrinology.

Dr. Sarah Ehtisham

Dr Ehtisham graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK and undertook her clinical training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.  She is an experienced paediatric endocrinologist who has received many research awards for her investigations into childhood diabetes.

Dr Ehtisham has been a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai since May 2016 and is Adjunct Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University Medical School in Dubai. Prior to joining Mediclinic City Hospital, she was a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Clinical Lead for diabetes at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, UK and she was also an honorary senior lecturer in Endocrinology at the University of Manchester. She has also worked as a Paediatric Endocrinologist in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr Ehtisham received her PhD in Childhood Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in 2006 and her CCST in Paediatric Endocrinology in 2007.
