Prof. Ibrahim Alwan

Bio
Prof Al-Alwan led a number of research projects and secured grants from multiple sources. Currently he is a principle investigator in a number of ongoing studies. He lectured in various countries and published in different aspects of pediatric endocrinology and medical education. At Administrative level, He is the President of Association of Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and an Executive Council Member, World Federation for Medical Education. At national level, he chairs various committees, established the Saudi Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship program in 2004 and served as Dean of College of Medicine, KSAU-HS between 2010-2014.

Bio
Prof Babiker was graduated from Sudan (1998) and completed his basic and specialist training in the UK (2002-2011). He was a Consultant Pediatrician and lead of Endocrine service at Diana, Princess of Wales hospital, Grimsby, UK. He is currently a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist, clinical lead of Pediatric Endocrine/Oncology service at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital (KASCH) and Prof. Babiker is the head of scientific board of the research committee in the department of Pediatrics at KASCH. He is also the deputy chair of Endocrine Research committee of the Arab Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (ASPED) since 2019. His research interests include: Diabetes, Endocrine/oncology and Neuroendocrinology especially growth and water and Na homeostasis and that is well reflected in his many publications in international peer review journals including chapters in standard Textbooks from Springer Nature and Tylor and Francis publishers.

- Salwa is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at The Medical City (MCMSS), Muscat, Sultanate of Oman & Assistant professor of Pediatrics at AL-Neelain University, Khartoum, Sudan.
- She is the Head of the Sudan Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program (SPEFP) training committee, General Secretary of the Sudan Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and DM (SSPED), Sudan Childhood DM Association (SCDA) Pediatric DM Clinics’ Manager and Life for A Child (LFAC) program coordinator in Sudan.
- Regionally, Dr. Salwa is the Deputy chair of the Education Committee in the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (ASPED) and a member of ASPED research committee. She also leads the DSD/ CAH focus group in the African Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ASPAE).
- Salwa has a special interest in pediatric Adrenal disorders and enhancing diabetes care in resource-limited countries with research, publications, and active contributions in this field.
